Back in beloved Scotland…

Back again in my glorious piece of Heaven in beloved Scotland…

Lady Penelope, my beloved baby Jaguar was waiting for me…  She’s a bit old and has a few wrinkles, but don’t we all…  🙂

One of my projects is to save Edward the Eagle…

Drinks with family…

View from the end of my driveway…

Private jet from Milan to Glasgow

Arrived at the private airport in Milan… greeted by a person who already knew my name, and porters already unpacking the vehicle as I am welcomed into the building…

My pilot came to introduce himself…

…and then we were whisked off to the jet, that was already loaded, ready to depart…

Scotland below…

Ferrari-time…

Lovely morning to head off to drive a Ferrari or two…

…then off to the famous Restaurante Cavallino…

Brescia to Parma, Italy

It wasn’t until I was putting some food and drink items on my bucket list (such as eat bolognese in Bologna, drink burgundy in Burgundy etc) did I realise that there is a place called Parma related to parmesan cheese!

Mille Miglia historic car race (post 1 of 2)

The Mille Miglia (mille = 1000, miglia = mile) was an open-road, motorsport endurance race established in 1927 by the young Counts Aymo Maggi and Franco Mazzotti, which took place in Italy twenty-four times from 1927 to 1957.

Now, it is not a ‘race’ as such but more of a time-trial and only vehicles that either raced in this event between 1927 and 1957, or vehicles that are the identical specifications to ones that did, may enter.

…but first catching some ducks breaking and entering…

OK, you lot…  line up…

Riva Boats trip and factory tour on Lake Iseo, Italy

Ms Bella St John - Luxurious Nomad

I have wanted to take a trip on a Riva boat since the first time I saw one in an old movie.

Such elegance, style…  prrrrrrrrr……………………

Apparently the history of Riva yachts goes back to 1842, when Pietro Riva began repairing and building yachts on Lake Iseo in northern Italy.

…and here was I, sitting on the banks of Lake Iseo, about to not only take a trip in a Riva boat, but to also explore the iconic Riva manufacturing facility…

(lovely new friends, John and Sue McNaughton)

Btw, the fellow on the left is Matthew Twynham and he was the one who put together the tour.  I can heartily recommend Matt – what a lovely man – nothing was too much trouble and he took such wonderful care of everyone…

Rum, Austria to Lake Iseo, Italy

I didn’t set foot outside the hotel the entire week I was there…  It was just magical sitting out on the balcony writing, reading, working…  the Alps so extremely close it felt as though one could reach out and touch them…

Then, at the end of that week, off to Italy to return the rental car and commence an extraordinary week that included the famous Mille Miglia (1000 mile classic car race through Italy).
